Presentation at bp Pride BRG Hungary Group
On 18 November 2020, Tamás Dombos and Erik Uszkiewicz held an English language presentation titled "Effective actions against hate crimes" during an event, co-organized by the SPECTRA research group and the bp Pride BRG Hungary group.

SPECTRA researchers summarized the most important pieces of information related to hate crimes, with a special focus on anti-LGBTQI offences and their victims. The program provided an excellent platform to summarize the most recent Hungarian case law and to transmit knowledge about what to do if we or a close relative / friend is exposed to such a crime, what rights we have as victims. As part of the interactive presentation, several questions were asked related to the European Union's new LGBT equality strategy, a possible new common European hate crime regulation and failures to investigate efficiently incidents that occurred during Pride Marches in Budapest. Speakers provided the international audience with practical information, e.g. they discussed the victim support services in Hungary and explained what to take into consideration during communication with the police.
